MICRODERMOABRASION

This method allows for a slow abrasion of the cutaneous surface, layer by layer, until the level desired is reached without causing any thermal damage.

It is based on the use of inert chemical microcrystals to achieve complete cutaneous regeneration.

The abrasion deepness depends on the quality and strength scattered by microcrystals, these parameters being specific for each patient. The action progressiveness permits an accurate control of the deepness reached, thus avoiding unwanted effects.

Due to different safety mechanisms of the system, the risk of facial aestheticisms resulting from pigmentary changes and dermal lesions is avoided.
The microdermabrasion treatment is based on minimum cutaneous aggression through small and repeated intervals without threatening the deep skin layer. Considering that these concepts are related not only to how the equipment operates but also to the specific biological response of each body, we can mention the following microdermabrasion applications and indications.

Advantages

Microdermabrasion permits to act in three different levels of deepness:

  • Superficial epidermis (peeling)
  • Superficial dermis (first bleeding)
  • Deep dermis (deep peeling)

Methodology and technique

At the doctor's office, in a nonsurgical environment, without the need of anesthesia or hospitalization, a facial cleaning is made to remove impurities. Then the application begins by making movements in three directions: circularly, perpendicularly and lineally to the lesion. The combination of these movements allows the physician to select the treatment deepness homogeneously and free of unwanted effects.

The microcrystal suction and discharge pressure is regulated depending on each indication.

Each session lasts from 15 to 30 minutes.

This is a safe procedure that causes minimum discomfort and has guaranteed results.

Indications

  • Hyperpigmentation (melasma)
  • Acne after effects
  • Chicken pox after effects
  • Cutaneous aging
  • Pore dilation
  • Stretch marks
  • Scars
  • Face beautification
  • Pre lifting
  • Pre resurfacing
  • Age spots

Peeling and thin wrinkles

We suggest this treatment for those patients having thin incipient wrinkles, blackheads, pore dilation and seborrheic skin appearance from the adolescence up to 35 years.

A superficial skin layer is exfoliated through soft and repeated applications. At the end of the treatment, the skin looks slightly reddened and moisturizing creams are indicated for the subsequent days.

The frequency between both applications is 12 days and the complete treatment comprises 10 applications.

The results obtained are evaluated taking into account:

the skin elasticity before and after the treatment and the visual and contact assessment of the skin surface.

Acne after effects

At present, surgical treatments, deep peelings or cryotherapy are used to achieve a deep cutaneous descaling.

Microdermabrasion results are similar to the techniques previously mentioned with the advantage that no anesthesia is required.

The skin is cleaned with creams, antiseptics and alcohol-free products. Then a preliminary peeling is made to remove the horny layer (skin superficial layer) and microdermabrasion is applied smoothly twice over each area.

The deepness reached with microdermabrasion will depend directly in the lesion seriousness.

We suggest receiving repeated and not very deep treatments to guarantee a good skin regeneration level and avoid pigmentary changes.

The areas deeply treated will show small scabs that will drop spontaneously within 5 to 10 days.

After the treatment, the patient will have to wash his/her face every day with acid soap for two days along with the application of an antibiotic cream.

The frequency among applications is 15 days and the complete treatment comprises 5 applications.

The number of applications is variable and, in all cases, it depends on the lesion seriousness, the level of cutaneous elasticity and the skin regenerative capacity in the area treated.

A 60 sun protection factor (sunscreen) must be used during 6 months after the treatment and voluntary sun exposure must be avoided.

The treatment will be made only in winter months.

Seborrhea

The efficacy of microdermabrasion is excellent in oily skin.

The skin is exfoliated with smooth movements three times in each area.

The intervals among applications last 1 month and 4 applications are required.

Hyperpigmentation

Two or three applications are necessary to treat the most serious hyperpigmentation problems.

The microdermabrasion deepness depends on the basal layer in which melanin is located in excess, thus generating the lesion.

Such treatment is combined with the use of skin lightening creams that inhibit the action of the tyrosinase enzyme that produces melanin.

Stretch marks

The success of the treatment depends on changes in the structure of stretch marks (their reduction or disappearance).

Stretch marks that can be eliminated most easily are located in the abdomen as a result of pregnancy.

This treatment, together with mesotherapy, is the only current therapeutic alternatives.
