TATTOO REMOVAL

Medlite Laser

Medlite Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser is the last word in these types of instruments. Its introduction permitted to remove most inks used in tattoos, with a minimum risk of scars.

Medlite laser removes the ink through light energy. The laser beam is designed to produce one or more light wavelengths, and these light frequencies are absorbed, reflected, or they simply go through objects.

Tattoo ink is removed by using a specific wavelength that is absorbed by the ink by going through the skin.

The quick absorption of light energy by ink causes its destruction, to be afterwards disposed of through the body natural filtering systems.

Medlite laser can lighten most inks used in tattoos significantly or eliminate them completely, and it is the best method to extract blue, black and red inks.

Medical research

Medical research showed us the most effective light wavelengths, and the best manner to transmit such energy to remove tattoo ink.

Medlite laser uses a light wavelength that goes through the skin and is absorbed by most inks used in tattoos by emitting light rays through high-intensity pulses of little duration to reach the maximum ink destruction.

The specific combination of an adequate wavelength and the short light pulses causes minimum aggression to the skin with a maximum removal of tattoo inks.

Is it painful?

Medlite laser emits light in very short “flashes” called pulses. The energy impact of this powerful light beam over skin is similar to that caused by a thin rubber band or maybe what we feel when a tiny drop of boiling oil falls on our skin. Most patients do not require anesthesia or simply local anesthesia.

How many sessions will be required for the tattoo removal treatment?

The tattoos made by professionals require an average number of 5 to 6 sessions, while those made by amateurs may take 3 to 4 sessions. These sessions may be carried out around every 30 days. The number of sessions will depend on the type of ink used and its deepness in the skin.

More than 10 sessions are rarely needed for a treatment.

Do all ink colors disappear to the same extent?

No. Dark inks (blue/black) and red inks disappear better. Orangy and purplish colors respond usually well. Green and yellow are the hardest to remove, but additional sessions can eventually achieve significant results.

Will the tattoo disappear completely?

In many cases, it will. It is possible to achieve a disappearance of over 95%. However, it is important to know that over 100 inks currently used around the world for tattoos are not regulated by health authorities. Not knowing the kind of ink used or the deepness of its application makes it difficult to predict the level of removal of each specific tattoo.

Which kind of post-treatment care is required?

In general, there will be pin-sized bleeding spots as a result of the treatment.

A disinfectant cream and a bandage will be applied to the area under treatment. This area must be kept clean and receive the continuous application of the medicine that the physician will prescribe.

The patient may take a bath on the following day, and he/she must avoid rubbing the area treated.
